Praesence Score: Connectivity

(early draft)

Score introduction:  This is an early draft of the connectivity score, which I am sharing in order to give an insight into how the ideas developed. This score was built between myself and two dance artists, Linzy Na Nakorn and Ben McEwen. The additions from the dance artists are marked by [ ]. Whilst in my initial development of the score, I had begun to connect with the idea of praesence being an external entity to connect with, the dynamic, active additions by the dance artists enabled this idea to be fully reached. This score was included to encourage readers to adapt and make their own additions to the score, enabling them to remain relational and dynamic.

You are welcome to start standing, sitting or lying in the room….

Take a moment to let yourself become part of the present. To become continuously part of presencing.

Check in with your breath…taking in air from the space around you, into the noise, the lungs, the blood, around the body and out through the mouth.

A circular continuous becoming…

Taking in and releasing.

Tune into any sounds that may be happening in the distance, my distance and your distance. Across distances.

Don’t feel like you need to define what you hear, just be aware of the presence of vibrations…making their way across space, into the room, towards your ears.

Different volumes and frequencies of vibrations. And perhaps as well, tune into any vibrations you may be sending out into space, the sound of your breath, any other sounds from inside your body.

What if each cell in your body could receive and respond to these vibrations

Tune the full 360% of your senses into the space that you’re in, where does the light fall, what is the temperature, of the ground, of the air around you.

Move your head and neck, maybe move your arms through space. Feel the sensitivity of your skin react to the brush of the air…
